Fashion Re/Action: Bargello Needlepoint, 10/8

Learn the art and history of 'flame stitch,' a super-easy and beautiful needlepoint technique dating back to the 16th century. Flame stitch can be used to create crazy embroidery designs that are equally Baroque and Psychedelic - just in time for Halloween!

The event is FREE and open to the public. Materials will be provided, but as always feel free to bring in projects you've begun or odd bits to incorporate into your creations. The demonstration starts promptly at 1pm (don't miss it) with open studio time afterwards.

Presented by Culture Push and JEM Fabric Warehouse, FASHION RE/ACTION is the 2nd annual series of FREE workshops and collaborative events to playfully re/design and re/imagine what can be done with discarded materials. More info: www.culturepush.org.

The 2011 FASHION RE/ACTION FESTIVAL continues for 4 more weeks of TOTALLY FREE craft and design workshops. Come to one, or come to all! We'd love to have you. Check http://culturepush.org/?q=node%2F758 for info and updates.
